Golden Milk - The Drink that Warms Your Body, Heart and Soul

Need a drink that warms you inside and out and helps to take away bit just your chills but your aches and pains as well? Here is our offering of our very own version of "Golden Milk". A drink that doesn't just taste good but also has amazing nutritional and health properties that almost make it a super drink.

Golden milk is a traditional Indian drink (where it is known as haldi doodh) that has roots in Ayurvedic medicine. At its simplest form, it is a blended mixture of turmeric and milk, however, to boost both its taste and further enhance its health properties you can customize it by adding numerous other herbs and spices.

Our own blend is made of the following ingredients: Turmeric, Cinnamon, Ginger, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Green Cardamom. They all have the common property of helping to enhance the body's warmth and so this is an ideal drink for wintry or chilly weather.

What Are The Benefits of Our Golden Milk?

Our Golden Milk is meant to be an ideal drink for wintry or chilly weather to give you some instant warmth. Our blend is composed of all-natural turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, nutmeg, & green cardamom, and is blended in-house according to our very own recipe without any preservatives or artificial components. While we cannot claim any kind of medical or health benefit backed up by any scientific research, the ingredients have been carefully chosen with their traditional benefits in mind.

Turmeric: The main star of the drink turmericis touted for its healing, anti-inflammatory properties largely thanks to its main active chemical curcumin. Curcumin has been scientifically proven to be an anti-inflammatory agent and turmeric has been used in various traditional medicine for thousands of years for conditions such as breathing problems, joint pain, fatigue, digestive issues, and more. Modern research also suggests that turmeric is a potent antioxidant with antimicrobial and anticancer effects.

Cinnamon: Cinnamon has been used in food preparations and in traditional medicine by the Egyptians and the Chinese since ancient times. In addition, this spice has been found to have strong antioxidant, antibacterial, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties, which play an important role in tissue repair and also as an herbal remedy for the treatment of common colds, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic gastrointestinal and gynecological disorders in oriental herbal medicine. It has also been used for treating sore throats, cough, indigestion, abdominal cramps, intestinal spasms, nausea, flatulence, and diarrhea.

Ginger: Gingerhas been scientifically proven to have anti-inflammatory properties, and improving digestive function. It has also traditionally been used to combat nausea, especially during pregnancy.

Black Pepper: Pepper has been historically used both as a seasoning and folk medicine. Black pepper was believed to cure several illnesses, such as constipation, insomnia, oral abscesses, sunburn, and toothaches, among others. Piperine (the chemical in pepper that gives it its spiciness) is under study for its potential to increase absorption of selenium, vitamin B12, beta-carotene and curcumin (the main chemical in turmeric), as well as other compounds.

Nutmeg: Traditionally, nutmeghas been used to relieve pain, soothe indigestion, strengthen cognitive function, detoxify the body, boost skin health, alleviate oral conditions, reduce insomnia, increase immune system function, and prevent leukemia, and improve blood circulation. Care should be taken however, large doses of nutmeg can be harmful and toxic.

Green Cardamom: Cardamom'snatural phytochemicals have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory abilities that could improve health.
